Start your badminton journey with passion
Looking for your first racket that won't let you down on court? The Kawasaki PASSION P22 is designed for beginners who want to discover the joy of badminton without compromising on quality. Perfect for players taking their first steps in this dynamic sport — whether you're a recreational player enjoying family time or someone serious about developing their skills.
Power in every shot
The PASSION P22 is an attack-oriented racket that encourages offensive play and bold shots. Its head-heavy balance (298±3 mm) supports powerful strokes, while the medium shaft stiffness forgives minor technical mistakes — typical for players still learning the game. From your very first training session, you'll feel confident and be able to focus on perfecting your technique.
Advanced technologies at an accessible price
Kawasaki has equipped the PASSION P22 with features usually found in higher-end models:
- 24T Hi-Modulus Graphite — high-modulus 24T graphite delivers an excellent balance between durability and flexibility in both frame and shaft
- Hotmelt Technology — hot-melt resin processing improves material consistency and boosts racket longevity
- Nano Technology — nano-scale reinforcement of the graphite structure improves energy transfer at impact
- Aerofoil Frame — aerodynamic frame profile reduces air resistance for faster swings and better control
Who is the PASSION P22 for?
This racket is an excellent choice if you:
- Are just starting out in badminton and need a reliable learning tool
- Play recreationally 1–2 times per week and want an investment that lasts
- Need a racket that forgives technical mistakes and helps build confidence
- Prefer an offensive style and enjoy finishing rallies with powerful smashes
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What string tension should I use as a beginner? We recommend starting at the lower end — around 18–20 lbs. Lower tension gives more "trampoline effect" from the strings and helps you generate power without perfect technique. As your skills improve, you can gradually increase the tension.
Does the racket come pre-strung? The racket is delivered unstrung from the factory. You can select the specification (string model and tension) during checkout. If you have any doubts, please contact us.
Is the grip already installed? Yes, the racket comes with a factory base grip (size G1). Many players add an overgrip for better tack and sweat absorption — it's a popular and inexpensive upgrade.
What's the difference between an attack and a defensive racket? Attack rackets (like the PASSION P22) have head-heavy balance, delivering more smash power at the cost of slower swing speed. Defensive rackets are balanced toward the handle — faster to manoeuvre, but harder to generate power with.
Is it suitable for children? The racket has a standard 675 mm length and 84 g weight — parameters aimed at teenagers and adults. For children under 10, we recommend junior rackets (shorter and lighter).
Can I choose the colour? Yes, the PASSION P22 is available in two colour variants: red and blue. Colour choice does not affect technical parameters.
How do I care for my racket? After play, wipe the frame with a dry cloth and store it in a cover. Avoid extreme temperatures (e.g. a car boot in summer or winter), which can weaken the graphite and strings. If the frame cracks around the stringbed, immediately cut the strings to prevent further damage.
