Durability of a training shuttle, feel of a feather shuttle!
The Kawasaki KING KONG 500 is a hybrid shuttlecock designed for clubs, academies, badminton schools, and all players who want to play often and without worrying about shuttles wearing out too quickly. The innovative 3-in-1 construction combines real goose feathers with a reinforced synthetic base — delivering a flight almost identical to classic feather shuttles, while lasting significantly longer. 💪
Why choose KING KONG 500?
✅ 3-in-1 hybrid technology — natural Grade A goose feathers + reinforced synthetic skirt + PU composite cork
✅ Significantly longer lifespan — lasts multiple times longer than inexpensive all-feather shuttles
✅ Stable, predictable flight — easy to control even for children and beginners
✅ Perfect for group classes and academies — fewer replacements = real savings for your club 💰
✅ Forgiving on mistakes — tolerates powerful hits and doesn't "go wild" after an amateur's first smash
✅ Computer-designed shape — smooth, enjoyable flight path at every skill level
✅ Practical tube – 12 pieces — more shuttles per tube than standard packaging!
Who are these shuttles for?
👉 Badminton schools and academies — lower cost per training session
👉 Amateur clubs and sports sections — ideal for regular group training
👉 PE teachers and youth coaches — durability that survives a full class
👉 Recreational players — for everyone who plays often and doesn't want to change shuttles every 15 minutes
👉 Families playing in parks, gardens, or backyards — a great compromise between quality and durability
Feather or hybrid – which to choose?
Classic feather shuttles offer the highest flight quality, but their cost can blow your budget during intensive training. Plastic shuttles are durable but play "differently" — without the authentic feel. KING KONG 500 is the golden middle ground — natural feathers that deliver an authentic playing feel combined with synthetic reinforcement that lets you play longer with the same shuttles. 🏆
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How do hybrid shuttles differ from classic feather ones? In a hybrid shuttle, the base (upper part of the skirt) is reinforced with synthetic material, while natural goose feathers are used only in the lower, feather section. As a result, the shuttle is much more resistant to breaking, while the flight path remains close to that of a classic feather shuttle.
How many rallies does one shuttle last? It depends on the playing level and hit strength. In amateur play and children's training, a single shuttle can last complete session. In intensive adult advanced play — proportionally less. Statistically, KING KONG 500 lasts significantly longer than cheap all-feather shuttles.
What does speed 77 mean? This is the international standard for marking shuttle speed. Speed 77 (Medium) is a universal value that works well in most European sports halls at 23–33 °C. In colder conditions, the shuttle flies a shorter distance; in warmer conditions — further.
Are these shuttles suitable for tournaments? KING KONG 500 shuttles are designed mainly for training, club play, and recreational use. For official regional and national tournaments, we recommend classic all-feather shuttles.
Is speed 77 right for my conditions? If you play in a standard sports hall or club (temperature 20–28 °C) — yes, speed 77 will be universal. For very cold halls, consider speed 78; for very warm conditions — 76.
How should I store shuttles to make them last longer? Keep them in the original tube, in a room with moderate humidity. Air that's too dry causes the feathers to become brittle — if the shuttles have been stored for a long time, you can gently "humidify" them before play by holding the open tube over steam from a kettle for a few seconds (be careful not to burn yourself) or by keeping the tube in a slightly humid room for 1–2 days.
Can I play with these shuttles outdoors? Feather and hybrid shuttles are not designed for outdoor use — even a light breeze will completely disrupt their flight path. For outdoor play, we recommend specialised outdoor shuttles or weighted plastic ones.
How many shuttles do I need for a group training session? For a 1.5-hour training session with a group of 6–8 children in a badminton school, one tube of KING KONG 500 (12 pcs) is usually sufficient. For groups of advanced adults, it's worth having 2 tubes on hand per session.
